Hi Everyone,
Well I can't say that I am a prolific blogger but I will be taking a break from blogland until after Xmas. Hopefully I will be fully revitalised after our holiday at the beach. Fingers crossed anyway!
I survived my week in Millmerrin last week. It was really really really hot and I did really long days. I was so glad to be home again. I am glad to say Ella survived quite nicely without me and her father was really glad to see me back again. I think he had forgotten how much needed to be done for a little one. Ha ha I say!!! I can't believe (well I can really as I am quite forgetful at times) that I forgot my camera, so no pics of my trip. I did take some with my phone but as I am technically challenged, I haven't worked out how to get them off yet wiht the Bluetooth. I will keep on trying.
On the weekend my beautiful little girl turned into feral girl and threw some of the most impressive temper tantrums I have seen. Very impressive.
I am trying to spring clean the house and keep on top of the washing. I am determined that I will arrive back from holidays to a pristine (ha ha ha, like that will ever happen) house. Today is scrubbing the bathroom from top to bottom and washing, tomorrow is dusting and vacuuming and putting away the washing. Friday is Xmas lunch with my boss and Ella's daycare Xmas party. Saturday is cleaning out the fridge, washing and packing. Sunday is finish off the packing and Monday is YIPEEEEE going away day.
So I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and I will be catching up with all the blogland news when I get back in 3 weeks time. Aso, I know I was supposed to have a giveaway this week but I has just not been organised enough to get it happening so I think I will think about it while I am on holiday and start the new your off with a giveaway. Top idea I reckon.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. Keep safe and well over the holiday.
Bye
Love from
Lis

Testing Gemma Joy's blog lesson - yay it works!
I was just reading Gemma Joy's tip for putting pics in your blog quickly and easily so I thought I would give it a try. Yay it works. Thanks so much for the tip Gemma.
Here is my demonstration that it worked for me. I don't know whose pic this is but I really liked it - I have a thing about hearts at the moment.
Talks to you soon - I will be having a pre-christmas giveaway - just as soon as I get back to civilisation!!!

Something exciting
I am soooo excited. Yesterday I delivered the first batch of my stitchery patterns, kits and deluxe kits to the Handmade Heaven. So I have officially launched my little business, Sunny Street Designs. I am excited, but also very scared as well. I really hope I get at least 1 sale, LOL. I won't be listing my products anywhere until after Christmas as I have just run out of time. So next year, Etsy here I come!
I will be running a give away next week but I need to think about what will be in it......mmmmmm I have some ideas........
I am off to Millmerrin (think that is how you spell it) for work next week. So it will be the first time away from my little girl and I am seriously stressed. Aggghhhh. I am just focusing on the weekend after and my Christmas holidays.
See ya later

Catch up post - again
Hi everyone
I always seem to be doing catch-up blogs lately. Hopefully one day I will get to be more organised! Anyway here is what has been going on in my little world:
1. My little baby (no mummy, I'm a BIG girl) turned 3.
2. Visited sea world for Ella's birthday. Fun, hot day. (funny thing, I ran into a friend from school - from 20+ years ago!)
3. Finished my first ever run of stitchery patterns, kits and deluxe kits! - so excited as they will be going into Handmade Heaven this week. Scared as well in case they are a flop!
4. Keeping inside out of the heat.
Here are some pics of Ella rocking out to Sesame Street at Sea World. She had such a blast!
Until next time

My Creative Space
Hi Everyone
There has been lots of creativeness happening at my place. I have finished a Christmas stitchery for my mother-in-law. I don't think she puts up Christmas decorations anymore (sad) so this might help her get back into the spirit of it all.
I have also been busy designing some stitcheries. I have 5 currently underway with about 20 or more in sketches....whew, that's lots of stitching to be done...lucky I just love it.
I picked up my new sewing machine so am designing a softie family for Ella to play with in her dolls house. I have also designed a little bag for her as well. Now I just have to get used to my new sewing machine and get them made.
I picked up some lovely fabric from spotlight last week. Haven't decided yet what I will do with it, just love looking at it in my stash.
That's all for my creative space this week. For more creativity or to play along please go here.

My Creative Space
Well I am having one very busy week so trying to fit in some creativeness has required some creativeness! Unfortunately I don't have a dedicated space, so the dining table it is!
This week I have made a pair of little pants from a Little Bird patten which was a pattern trial for The Haby Goddess. The pattern was super easy for this beginner. To bad something went wrong with the tension on my sewing machine so all the stitching was revolting. I was really impressed with how easy the pattern was and how much I enjoyed doing it.
This week I received in the mail 300 skeins of Venus threads I ordered. They were only $50 so I thought they were worth a try. I usually start stitching a discover that I don't have exactly the colour I want so then a quick trip to Spotlight and then home again. Those days are now over. YAY.
So in my pictures is my sewing, my threads and my lovely little helper.
For more creative spaces or to play along just pop over to Kirsty's.
See ya next time.

What's Hot + What's Not
What's Hot + What's Not
I have decided to play along with the What's Hot + What's Not game from Loobylu again this week. I thought as I am a slack poster this will help me reach my target of at least one post per week.
What's Hot
1. Unclaimed money.http://www.fido.gov.au/fido/fido.nsf/byheadline/Unclaimed%20money%20-%20overview?opendocument I have found out I am owed about $7500. Woo hoo
2. My pack of 300 skeins of thread I purchased.
3. My daughter. She is the best. (This one is a standard one).
4. My husband being on afternoon shift. He seems to actually do housework when he is on this shift.....I LOVE it!
5. Investment property with tenants (finally).
6. MyFun pass for Movie World, Sea World and Wet and Wild.
7. Happy customers.
What's Not
1. My work - I have to go away for 3 nights - first time away from my little girl. I know she is 3 now but I am not looking forward to it!
2. Dead sewing machine - and it has just bee serviced!
That's it from me today not much of the What's Not and a lot of the What's Hot, which is good. So for more What's Hot + What's Not, or to play along, just go to Loobylu.

Getting Organised
I can't believe that Xmas isn't that far away. We I just had to post about my week last week. I can't believe I accomplished this, but I have finished Ella's birthday shopping (she will be 3) and I have mostly finished my Xmas shopping. Just a few bits and pieces to get closer to the day, but they are on my list and I know what I am getting!
I really have to thank Handmade Heaven for enabling me to finish my shopping as I was stumped for what to get for a few people. My father in law is going to love his new heat pad, especially that it is in a masculine grey colour, made by Bubba Chenille. And the ladies are going to love their soaps. I can't remember who made them but they are beautiful and some look like lemon meringue pie! I would post some pics but as I was in a super organised mode, I have already wrapped them!!!
I think I will have to pop back and get some of the play dough with sparkles in it. Ella will love another little pressie for her birthday. :)
Until next time

On the Shelf
Hi Everyone
I am really slack at keeping my blog up to date and sometimes I just can't think of things to blog about. Anyway, I saw that Pip at meet me a mikes has started a meme game so I thought I would play along.
I really don't have many shelves in my house (or much space for that matter). I have 2 shelves that are mine and they contain some of my crafty supplies. On the top shelf I have some craft mags, 2 stitcheries that I am working on, my threads, 2 mixtapezine mags (just discovered these and I love them) and my project folders. As you can see by my bottom shelf, I am a magazine lover so yes, more craft and decorating type mags.
I have to confess that before I took the pic I did tidy the shelves (they had bits of thread all over them) and dusted which started me on a mad cleaning frenzy that ended up taking in the whole house. So it is now the afternoon and my house is sparkling but I still haven't done any craft. Oh well. I did mention earlier in this post that I didn't have much space, well the reason is in the next pic of my daughters toys. These are just some of her toys as the others are strewn throughout her room. And my next little pic is of Miss Ella fast asleep. She has hurt her toe and wouldn't let me put a bandaid on it and got herself quite worked up (my husband thought she was being murdered she was screaming so much - and that was just when I was unwrapping the bandaid!) so she has just crashed out.
See ya

Catch up post
Its been a long time between posts. I really do need to get a bit better with keeping my news up to date.
Well since last time, Ella has been sick a couple more times with trips to Dr's becoming a bit to regular for my liking. We are now off to get some blood tests this week. I am going to wait a couple of days as she was a bit traumatised by her visit to the Dr today. For some reason she really, really and I mean REALLY hates the Dr looking down her throat. Last week she bit the Dr's finger.....whoopsie.
We have been on a trip to the beach and had a wonderful day. We built a big sand castle on a sand bank. I was lovely and relaxing. At the moment I am trying to talk Jason into going away to the Sunshine Coast for a long weekend. I am going to keep working on him ....... fingers crossed. I am quietly confident that I will wear him down!
We have been on some really lovely country drives, still getting to know this beautiful area we have moved to.
We have had my parents come to visit. It was really lovely for Ella to spend some time with her Nanny and Poppy. She adores them and they adore her. It was so funny today. I roused on her (can't remember what for right now - nothing major) today for being naughty and she picked up a pretend phone and told me she was ringing Nanny to tell her that I was being naughty to her. I just had to laugh and give her a cuddle. I can't be cranky at this beautiful little girl for much longer than a millisecond. She absolutely brightens my world.
Another thing, my car broke down a few days ago in Brisbane...why couldn't it have waited until I was a bit closer to home. Anyway, Jas and little Ella came and fetched me and my little car had to spend a couple of days in there while I waited for my new RACQ membership to be activated. What a pain in the bum. Then we had to drive back in there on the Saturday (the morning that mum and dad were arriving....agghhhh how stressful) and get it towed for repairs...yep it was dead as a Dodo. At the end of the very drawn out saga my car is now fixed and is back home with me and I am now $570 dollars poorer. Boo hoo, I could have bought a really nice sewing machine for that kind of money.....more boo hoo's.
I am starting to get toooo sleepy now to think of more interesting things we have done in the past month.
Until next time

Ella's Sick Day
Yesterday I spent the day snuggled on the lounge with little miss sick Ella. It is a kind of strange thing to say, but we really had a lovely day eve though she wasn't well. There were lots of cuddles and kisses and just lots of love. I just wanted to make her feel better so I couldn't leave her side. Even if I needed to go to the toilet, she had to come with me......very funny, cute and frustrating all at the same time. Ella told me yesterday that mummy and daddy were her best friends. Beautiful!
I am pleased to report that she is all better now, acutally she was better by lunch time yesterday so it is all good in the Thomas house hold.
See you until next time

I haven't blogged for a while and thought I had better post an update.
Well, we got all of our possessions shipped up from storage in Newcastle. We spent all of last weekend unpacking, repacking, sorting and rearranging. The Salvo's are going to love us. I also have heaps of items to list on ebay, but that is a job for next weekend.
Ella started gymnastics a couple of weeks ago. She is so funny. She gets so excited that she can't focus on the lesson and runs off everywhere jumping on all of the equipment. They are really lovely at the centre and told me to not worry about it and that all of the children are the same when they first start. Anyway, we won't be going in the morning as my little cherub has been vomiting. It really isn't nice to see your little ones sick. You just want to take all of the yuckiness away but you can't.
Anyway, time for this short and sweet blog to end as I am tired and want to check on little Ella.
Hoo roo for now

Ella's tea party
These are some photos I took earlier this year when we were still in Perth. Ella was missing her daddy because he was away for work, so to cheer her up I decided it was time for a tea party. We invited all of her friends and we had a lovely time. If you are wondering why Ella isn't wearing any clothes, besides the fact that she really doesn't like wearing any clothes, it was particularly hot that day. After we finished the tea party, we had a little cooling off swim in her little pool in the backyard. We did have a lovey time and it helped take her mind off missing her daddy, at least for a little while anyway.

My creative cousin
My cousin Cindy is a very talented scrapper. She has created this scrapbook page with my daughter as the subject. I love it. It is so beautiful.
I have included a link to her blogspot in case you are interested in visiting it. I recommend popping over to have a look at how clever she is.
Thanks Cindy :)

Ella's new shoes
We had one of our first's this week. I took Ella shopping for new shoes that she picked out herself. It was so cute. She tried on 2 other pairs before deciding that she liked these ones the best. I was secretly glad as the other 2 pairs were really sparkly and really really inappropriate for running around at daycare. So yes, I did have a big sigh of relief when she chose these little joggers. I might surprise her with the sparkly ones another day as they would match her fairy outfit perfectly.
Well it is time for me to get off the computer and go and cook some scones, biscuits and some Thai fish cakes.
Bye bye

Ella's new hair style
After many frustrating mornings trying to get Ella to sit still and let me brush her hair and having her scream at me that it hurts, I finally decided to get it chopped off.
I think she looks so cute now.
Check out the pics. I think she must have felt really good after getting her hair cut that she put on an impromptu concert for her dad and I in the lounge room. She is using her horsey (my cobweb broom) as her microphone.
It was easy to brush her hair this morning....no tears....no knots....yipeeeeee.

Another visit to Yamba
Well, we got back late Monday afternoon from another visit to see mum and dad in Yamba. It is great that they aren't too far away at the moment and we get to visit with them, especially little Ella. I can't believe that it was only on the way home in the car that I realised that I didn't take any photos......what a duffer!! Oh well, we did have a lovely weekend and Ella really enjoyed spending time with her nan and pop and she thinks Poppy Pingo is a lovely lady. How funny is that.
Ella loved playing on the stairs in the house and kept giving poor old nan a heart attack. Ella also loved telling everyone what she got up to on the toilet and that she had washed her hands. Very funny.
The weather let us down this time and it did stop us from doing some of the things we had planned. In the end it didn't matter as we had a lovely time anyway. We did get concerned on Monday morning that there may be some roads closed as it didn't stop raining at all on Sunday night.
When we drove through Ballina on the way home, there was one part of the Pacific Highway that had quite a lot of water over it. If we were any earlier we probably would have had to detour. I do just want to say that some people are just stupid when it comes to driving in the rain. Haven't they heard of driving to the conditions!! Very annoying. Needless to say, we did pass three car accidents on the way home. One was particularly bad and involved a truck jack knifing and nearly plunging off an embankment. That was only very lucky truck driver. I am sure there were quite a few people cursing him though as you should have seen the amount of traffic backed up.
Talk to you soon

My first time blogging
Hi and welcome to the Thomas Family blog. This is our first entry in what I hope to be an interesting blog for our friends and family to see what we are up to. It is difficult at times to be able to chat with everyone so I am hoping that this will be an avenue that will enable us to keep in touch.
Well, to get started, last weekend we travelled to Yamba to visit with my folks and my sister and her boyfriend. After a very interesting (and long) journey we arrived. We learn't a valuable lesson, don't put all of your trust in the GPS. They will really take you on some adventures it you let them. I really wouldn't have minded if it was day time, but driving through a mountain range in the dark and with fog rolling in really wasn't my idea of a great time!
It was lovely to see them as we haven't seen them since March last year. It was really beautiful to see our daughter Ella just take to her Nanna, Pop, Auntie and Uncle.
Also, I have to say a big thanks to my sissy for letting us use the magnificent house her and her boyfriend rented for the weekend. It was amazing and I could really get used to that lifestyle and especially the kitchen. Click here to see the house.
What made the weekend even more special was catching up with my cousin Cindy and her partner Steve and their two beautiful girls, Kelsey and Alina. I loved watching them interact with their little cousin Ella.
We also caught up with Aunty Sue, Uncle Alan, my cousin Alison, my Aunty Doreen and mum and dad's friends, Pingo and Patty.
It all seem to go really quickly and before we knew it we were back home. But, we loved being in Yamba so much that we are going back next weekend. Can't wait. This time there will be only my mum and dad there so it will be very quiet and relaxing.
See you next time.
